Thursday, October 16th, 2008

For the first time in NFL history, the top-priced Super Bowl XLIII tickets will have a face value of $1000, the league announced today.  For the National Football League’s Championship Game scheduled to be held on February 1, 2009, in Tampa, Florida, the NFL will make the face price for 17,000 suite and club seats $1,000 each.   Another 53,000 tickets will be priced $800 and the remaining 1,000 tickets will be priced at $500.  It is the second year in a row that the NFL has raised the face price of Super Bowl tickets although the NFL did lower the price for the worst 1,000 of the Super Bowl XLIII tickets.  Super Bowl tickets on the secondary ticket market can command anywhere from $2500 to $4000.

New York Jets to Auction Off Coaches Corner PSLs on Stubhub

Thursday, September 18th, 2008

The New York Jets of the National Football League are taking the unprecedented step of putting P.S.L.s (also know as Personal Seat Licenses) for the New Meadowlands Stadium the Jets will share and jointly own with the New York Giants up for auction on the Internet ticket site Stubhub.

The Jets will take the PSLs for a little over 2,000 of the best seats near the 50 yeard-line called the “Coaches Corner” and upload to Stubhub where fans will be allowed to bid on the PSLs.   Starting bids for the PSLs will begin at $5,000 per seat and are not expected to go for the minimum bid.   Winners of the PSL auctions will then be able to purchase game tickets for the seats which will be priced at approximately $700 each.

The Jets are using PSLs for the new stadium as are the New York Giants.   The Jets will also sell PSLs in a non auction format and prices will range from $4,000 to $25,000.  The Giants are selling PSLs for similar seats in the stadium that the Jets are putting up on Stubhub for $20,000.

The Jets will have many seats in the upper level of the stadium that will not require the purchase of PSLs, the Giants plan to sell PSLs for every seat in the stadium.

There are many other professional sports teams that sell PSLs, but this is the first time a team has decided to auction off PSLs.  The auctions are expected to being in October.

Find Deals on Patriots and Bengals Football Tickets

Wednesday, September 10th, 2008

Buy cheap Cincinnati Bengals tickets.   The combination of a tough loss to the Baltimore Ravens, a very slow economy and a weak draw opponent in the Tennessee Titans have contributed to a buyer’s market for Bengals home opener tickets.  Ticket brokers are lamenting that tickets are going for half face price.

After raising ticket prices more than any other team and fighting Stubhub, the New England Patriots have dropped a substantial number of tickets in price and have made additional tickets available on Ticketmaster due to a season ending injury to star QB Tom Brady.  There has not been a cheaper time to see the Patriots in over ten years.

Many deals to be had.
